How did I become fascinated with romance novels? I recall being a stressed out college student. That particular semester I had a full load of classes and worked two part-time jobs. I was fried. Christmas break was coming up and I wanted to reset my brain. Instead of spending hours reading or writing papers for school, I needed to take a brain vacation. I went to the university bookstore, looking for something "mindless" I could read. I found a small romance section. In those days, most of the novel covers had scantily clad couples in awkward poses. Looking back, a few were probably comical.

Anyway, I chose one. A muscle bound Native-looking guy with a blond. It was probably a "captive" type novel, because those were big back then. (We're talking late 1980s). The novel was okay. I can't recall the title, but what it did provide me with was ESCAPE. After that I began searching similarly themed books. An entire world opened. I read voraciously. Some novels were better than others, some were absolutely brilliant. Some authors became favorites, and I looked for their books. (I'll save favorite authors for another post!)

After many years, I decided to write my own. I hope you enjoy.
